The jacket is designed for both daily walks and more active dogs, allowing for complete freedom of movement, making it highly valued for sports and training activities. It is made of three layers: a waterproof polyester outer layer with a hydrophobic coating, a thermal insulation inner layer, and a lining made of warm and soft synthetic fur. A high, fold-over collar protects the neck, and minimal seams reduce the risk of abrasion and increase water resistance. Openings at the collar and back allow for leash attachment to a collar or harness worn under the jacket, minimizing the risk of water getting inside. The jacket is 2 cm longer than other Pomppa jackets of the same size, providing more coverage and warmth.
Tip: The ToppaPomppa jacket is a great winter jacket for those really harsh winters. For dogs sensitive to the cold, such as those with short hair or seniors, consider adding a JumppaPomppa fleece underneath for additional insulation.
How to Care for Your Pomppa Dog Clothing:
Avoid unnecessary washing to preserve the fabric and its coating. If there are no visible stains, try airing the product or placing it in the freezer to remove odors. If washing is necessary, machine wash on a delicates cycle at 30°C without harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners. Hang to dry and do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean. The water-repellent coating can be restored with waterproofing products available in outdoor clothing stores.
Choosing the Right Size:
A properly selected size provides the best thermal protection and freedom of movement. The right size protects the most important muscle groups and ensures the garment stays in place during activity. The decisive factor is the length of the dog's back. Avoid choosing a size smaller than the dog's back length. Depending on the dog's proportions and coat type, a larger size may be necessary. The waist circumference should be slightly larger than the dog's waist for a comfortable fit.
