Canine Parvovirus
Canine parvovirus is a dangerous and highly contagious disease caused by the canine parvovirus. Young and unvaccinated animals are the most susceptible. The disease occurs in two forms: intestinal (parvovirus gastroenteritis) and cardiac (parvovirus myocarditis). Symptoms include lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea, leading to quick dehydration. The mortality rate for the intestinal form can be up to 50%, while the cardiac form is characterized by sudden death.
Coronavirus in Dogs
Coronavirus is responsible for intestinal infections in dogs and spreads quickly in groups of sensitive animals, such as those in farms, shelters, or hotels. Newborn puppies are most at risk. It is spread through feces and infection occurs via the alimentary route, causing damage to the small intestines and leading to diarrhea. The infection is usually mild, with symptoms such as decreased appetite, apathy, diarrhea, and sometimes vomiting.
