Description
Polisept® Vet Wound Irrigation is an isotonic liquid designed for washing all types of wounds and preparing them for further treatment, offering high antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effectiveness.
Polisept® Vet Wound Irrigation is an isotonic liquid for washing all types of wounds and preparing the wound bed for further treatment, including surgery. Its special properties result from the combination of synergistically acting active substances (PHMB, Betaine) contained in the osmotic fluid. These substances give it unique properties - high antibacterial, anti-inflammatory effectiveness, including pain analgesic effect and a high degree of safety.
The fluid is very well tolerated by the tissues - its use prevents irritation and swelling in the wound area.
Polisept® Vet Wound Irrigation:
- Effectively removes mechanical and biological impurities
- Thoroughly penetrates and cleans pockets and recesses of wounds (bite wounds and torn)
- Effectively removes the formed bacterial biofilm

- Shows excellent tissue tolerance (very low cellular toxicity, no allergenic effect)
- Accelerates wound healing, has a wide range of applications
- Fits perfectly into the "TIME" scheme of treatment wounds
- Allows for effective and non-invasive removal of dressings
Active ingredients:
- Polyhexanidine (PHMB), betaine, calcium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium chloride.

Application:
Direct application to the wound, wound irrigation. Wounds can be rinsed by pouring the liquid directly from the package or using a syringe from the package with a cannula or a suitably thick needle. In the case of bite and lacerations or in the presence of recesses and pockets, fluid should be drained from the wound. Do not inject the fluid into the wound under high pressure. It is recommended, especially when treating chronic wounds, to warm the liquid to a temperature close to the physiological body temperature (do not use cold liquid taken from the refrigerator). When proceeding further, i.e., using other preparations, the wound should be dried, e.g., with a sterile gauze.
Using moistened compresses. Apply the moistened, heated liquid compress to the wound, press gently and leave for 10-15 minutes. Prepare wet spots by moisturizing compresses or sterile gauze in a proportion of 10 ml. liquid per 10X10 cm2 of gauze/compress. This method is especially recommended in the treatment of chronic, infected wounds for effective removal of bacterial biofilm. In a similar way, you can prepare a dressing, which should be changed with a frequency appropriate to the nature.
Wiping wounds. Dead tissue, mechanical and biological impurities can also be removed by gently wiping the wound surface with a gauze pad or compress generously soaked in heated liquid.
Removing dried dressings. Wet the dried dressing intensively with heated liquid, wait until the dressing can be gently removed without damaging the wound. After removing the dressing, the wound can be covered with a moistened compress and left for 10-15 minutes to better cleanse the wound of any organic residues.
