The PetSafe Staywell Deluxe Magnetic Cat Flap is a cat flap with a magnetic opening system and a built-in tunnel that gives your pet freedom and independence. This door, wall, or window-mountable cat flap allows your pet to enter and exit the house at any time. You don't have to interrupt your activities to let your pet out, then watch them return to let them in again. Additionally, don't worry about unwanted four-legged guests, as this entryway only allows cats with a special tag to enter your home.

The Staywell Deluxe Magnetic Cat Flap has four opening/closing options, controlled by a knob: the door is completely closed (position 1 on the knob), the cat can enter the house but cannot exit (position 2), the cat can exit but cannot enter (position 3), and the flap opens in both directions (position 4). Additionally, the door is equipped with an access lock for undesirable pets. This lock prevents an outside pet from lifting the flap and climbing through the opening.
The door comes with a key tag that should be attached to your pet's collar. When your cat approaches the entrance and the tag is positioned just above the bottom edge of the tunnel, the magnetic mechanism inside will unlock the flap. This rule only applies when your pet enters the house – leaving the house doesn't require a key. The cat flap comes with one collar and one tag, but additional tags are available for purchase for owners of multiple cats.
Magnets are also located around the edge of the flap and the opening in the frame, keeping the flap in place, preventing excess air from entering the house and preventing accidental opening, for example, during a draft. The transparent material evokes associations with a window and makes it easier for your pet to push the flap into place.
The Staywell Deluxe Magnetic Cat Flap can be mounted on brick walls, wooden, metal, PVC, and UPVC doors, as well as glass doors and windows. Installation is straightforward, and a special punch and screws are included. If you plan to mount the flap on a thicker wall or door, this model is perfect, as it has an integrated 6cm tunnel. Both the frame and the flap are made of durable plastic, making the product long-lasting and weather-resistant. Available in classic white and elegant wood-effect finishes.

Tip: To make it easier for your pet to get through the door, install it so that your pet doesn't have to climb to get through.
How do you train your pet to use the door? After installing the door, leave the flap open for a while (you can attach it to the surface above with a piece of string and tape. Make sure the flap doesn't accidentally fall, as this could scare your pet). Encourage your pet to go through the opening using its favorite food or treats. First, feed your pet at the inside door, then at the outside door. Practice until your pet starts going through without thinking. Then repeat the training with the flap down until your pet masters the maneuver of pushing the door to exit. Pet and reward your pet every time it goes through the door. You can also introduce a fun element into the training, for example, by passing a cat fishing rod.
