Description
The PetSafe SmartDoor Connected Pet Door offers smart, chip-based access for dogs and cats, providing freedom for pets and control for owners.
The PetSafe SmartDoor Connected Pet Door is a smart, chip-based dog and cat door that will give your pet freedom and independence, while you stay in control of your pet's whereabouts even when you're away from home. The door is equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi module, so you can change all settings at any time and from anywhere with internet access. You'll also feel the benefits when you're at home, as this door means you don't have to interrupt your activities to let your pet out and then watch for their return to let them in again.
Features:
-
My PetSafe Mobile App: Operate the door remotely using your smartphone. The app is required to scan your pet's microchip and register it in the flap's "memory" so they can use the door.
-
Separation of Permissions: Specify which pets can use the door at any given time and to what extent (entry and exit, entry only, or exit only), and for which pets the door should be completely closed.
-
Schedule: Schedule permissions for individual pets for the entire week. Specify the days and times your pet can go outside, and when it should stay inside.
-
Notifications: Receive push notifications on your phone every time your pet enters or leaves the house, when settings are changed, when the battery is low, or if the system encounters an error. You'll receive an email notification if the pet door loses its Wi-Fi connection.
-
Multi-person Supervision: Manage the pet door together with other household members. Your roommates can install the "My PetSafe" app and change settings as you do.
-
Power Outage: Determine whether the pet door should be locked for all pets or unlocked (including those without a chip) after a battery drain or power outage.
-
Manual Mode: Control the basic functions of the pet door using the buttons located in the frame, under the battery cover. Manual mode includes settings like enabling/disabling Smart mode, enabling/disabling the lock for pets without a chip, resetting the internet connection, and restoring factory settings.
How do chip-enabled dog and cat doors work? When a pet approaches the entrance, the built-in chip reader scans the number from the microchip located in the body (implanted subcutaneously by a veterinarian) or on the pet's neck (in the form of a dedicated tag). If the number is successfully identified, it releases the access lock. Other animals outside the house cannot open the flap and pass through the opening. You can assign up to 32 pets to the database.
The M-size door is compatible with the most common types of chips implanted by veterinarians: the 15-digit FDX-B microchip, the 10-digit FDX-A microchip, and the 9- and 15-digit AVID H and AVID Encrypted microchips. Pets without a microchip must be fitted with a special key – a "PetSafe SmartDoor Connected Key" tag (one included with the door). The SmartDoor Connected pet door in size L, however, does not support implanted microchips, so it requires each pet to have a special key.
The door can be powered in two ways: by connecting it to a power outlet (cable and plug available separately) or by inserting four batteries. You can also provide two alternative energy sources simultaneously: power the SmartDoor with a power supply and simultaneously store batteries in the door to keep them running in the event of a power outage.
Sealing strips around the flap provide protection against cold/hot outside air, and magnetic contact points ensure the flap closes quickly after your pet passes through the opening. The tinted flap ensures discretion – despite its size (especially the size L), both pets and people outside will not be able to see into your home.
The pet door can be fitted to wooden, metal, PVC, and UPVC doors, walls, as well as glass doors and (size M only) single and double glazed glass windows. The integrated 6.6cm tunnel makes it easy to fit into thick walls and doors. You can gain an extra 5cm by purchasing an additional PetSa tunnel.
