Description
The PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door provides your pet with freedom and independence while offering superior thermal insulation against extreme temperatures.
Product Description
The PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door is a simple door or wall-mounted accessory that allows your pet to enter and exit the house at any time, regardless of weather conditions. It protects your home from extreme temperatures up to 3.5 times more effectively than a single-flap door. The triple flap with a central thermal insulation layer blocks the inflow of extremely cold or warm outside air. For maximum security, when the door is not in use, you can additionally cover it with a snap panel.
The principle of the door is very simple. All your pet needs to do is push the transparent flap with their body, and it will raise and lower automatically when they pass through the opening. The Extreme Weather model has two setting options: the flap opens inwards and outwards, or is completely closed. If you don't want your pet to leave the house for a while, or conversely, to stay outside, you can completely close the door at any time with a snap-on cap. Importantly, the flap doesn't swing, but stops flush with the frame, and a built-in magnet holds it in place. This closing system prevents accidental opening, for example, during strong winds.

Training Your Pet
How do you train your pet to use the door? After installing the door, leave the flap open for a while (you can attach it to the surface above with a piece of string and tape. Make sure the flap doesn't accidentally fall, as this could scare your pet). Encourage your pet to go through the opening using its favorite food or treats. First, feed your pet at the inside door, then at the outside door. Practice until your pet starts going through without thinking. Then repeat the training with the flap down until your pet masters the maneuver of pushing the door open to exit. Pet and reward your pet every time it goes through the door. You can also incorporate a playful element into training, for example, by throwing a ball through the door for the dog or passing a fishing rod through it.
