The PetSafe Extreme Weather Aluminum Pet Door is a simple door or wall-mounted accessory that gives your pet freedom and independence. This thermally insulated metal dog and cat door with aluminum reinforcement allows your pet to enter and exit the house at any time. Winter or summer, frost or heat - the triple flap with a central thermal insulation layer blocks the inflow of extremely cold or warm air from the outside, protecting the interior from very high and low temperatures up to 3.5 times more effectively than standard pet doors.
The metal frame with reinforced aluminum corners makes the door ultra-durable, resistant to extreme weather conditions, and ideal for buildings with multiple pets. When not in use, you can cover it with a snap panel. The door operates very simply. Simply push the triple-layer flap with your body, and it will raise and lower automatically when your pet passes through the opening.
The Extreme Weather Aluminum Pet Door has two setting options: the flap opens inward and outward, or is completely closed. If you don't want your pet to leave the house for a while, or conversely, stay outside, you can cover the passage at any time with a cover that snaps onto the door frame. Importantly, the flap doesn't swing, but stops flush with the frame, and a built-in magnet holds it in place. This closing system prevents excessive airflow when your pet passes through the opening.
Sizes
The thermally insulated cat and dog flap is available in three sizes – M, L, and XL. It can be installed in panel, wooden, metal, and PVC doors 3.75-5cm thick. The metal collar around the opening creates a secure tunnel through the passage. Installation is straightforward, and a special punch and screws are included. The door can be used by animals weighing up to 100 kg (for size XL).

Tip: To make it easier for your pet to get through the pet door, install it so they don't have to climb over it.

The pet door can be installed in most wall types, however, before installation, we recommend consulting a professional building technician to assess the feasibility of installation in your chosen location.
Training Your Pet
How do you train your pet to use the pet door? After installing the pet door, leave the flap open for a while (you can attach it to the surface above with a piece of string and tape. Make sure the flap doesn't accidentally fall, as this may scare your pet). Encourage your pet to go through the opening using its favorite food or treats. First, feed your pet at the inside door, then at the outside door. Practice until your pet walks through the door without hesitation. Then repeat the training with the flap down until your pet masters the maneuver of pushing the door open. Pet and reward your pet every time it goes through the door. You can also incorporate a playful element into the training, for example, by throwing a ball through the door for the dog or passing a cat fishing rod through it.
