Although the dog headcollar fastens around the muzzle, it does not function as a muzzle. The collar rests at the base of the muzzle, leaving about 2 cm of space between the strap and the muzzle (about the width of your index finger). When your dog pulls on the leash, the collar applies gentle pressure and gently turns your pet's head towards you, distracting it from distractions and encouraging it to walk steadily forward. A properly fitted head collar won't cause gagging or choking because it doesn't press against the nose or throat. At the same time, the head collar allows your pet complete freedom to eat, drink, grab toys, pant, and bark.
The strap resting on the muzzle is padded with a layer of soft neoprene fabric, which absorbs pressure and prevents chafing. As a result, using the collar is painless for your dog.
