The free-falling stream of fresh water encourages cats and dogs to drink more, which helps prevent urinary tract infections and kidney disease. The fountain has an additional water reservoir, allowing it to hold 4.97 liters of water. It also has a replaceable carbon filter that removes unpleasant tastes and odors and captures contaminants such as fur.
A sloping ramp, a special raised section, flows down the water into the bowl. This design prevents the water jet from violently colliding with the surface, preventing splashing around the fountain. The water pump is located just below the water level, ensuring quiet operation. Additionally, the pump is adjustable, allowing you to adjust the flow rate. Non-slip feet stabilize the fountain and prevent it from moving during heavy drinking.
The fountain can be easily disassembled for cleaning, and all parts, except the pump, are dishwasher safe. The Drinkwell Platinum dog and cat fountain is powered by electricity (power cord included).
