The pet flap is very easy to use for both the pet and the owner. Simply push the transparent flap with your body, and it will raise and lower automatically when the pet passes through. GentleClose™ technology allows the flap to close slowly and quietly behind the cat or dog to prevent startling the animal or tail entrapment, similar to soft-close furniture.
The Big Cat model has four opening/closing options, which you can adjust using the knob: the flap opens in both directions (open padlock symbol); the cat can enter the house but cannot exit (house symbol with a left-facing arrow); the cat can exit the house but cannot enter the house (house symbol with a right-facing arrow); the flap is completely closed (closed padlock symbol).
Magnets are located on the bottom edge of the flap and the opening in the frame, holding the flap in place, preventing excess outside air from entering the house. Additionally, the edges of the flap are surrounded by a soft strip that increases draft protection and reduces noise.
The Big Cat Flap can be successfully installed indoors to allow your pet access to a room where the door is rarely left open, such as the toilet. It also works well as a balcony door. The Big Cat Flap cat and dog door can be installed in walls, doors (including sliding doors), and windows (even double-glazed) 25-51mm thick, made from materials such as brick, wood, metal, PVC and UPVC, and glass. Installation is straightforward, and you'll find a special cutting tool and screws included. Both the frame and flap are made of durable plastic, making the product long-lasting and weather-resistant. The universal, white color suits many interiors.

Tip: To make it easier for your pet to get through the flap, install it so your pet doesn't have to climb through.

How to train your pet to use the flap:
After installing the flap, leave the flap open for a while (you can attach it to the surface above with a piece of string and tape. Make sure the flap doesn't accidentally fall, as this could scare your pet). Encourage your pet to go through the opening using its favorite food or treats. First, feed your pet at the inside door, then at the outside door. Practice until your pet starts walking through without thinking. Then repeat the training with the flap down until your pet masters the maneuver of pushing the flap to exit. Pet and reward your cat every time it goes through the door. You can also incorporate a fun element into the training, for example, by passing a fishing rod around.
