Description
The PerusPomppa is a warm winter dog jacket designed to protect against wind, rain, and snow while providing thermal comfort and freedom of movement for active dogs.
The PerusPomppa is a warm winter dog jacket, suitable for both wet and cold weather. It perfectly protects against wind, rain, and snow, and provides thermal comfort for the most important parts of your dog's body. Ideal for both daily walks and more active dogs. Thanks to its unique design, it allows for complete freedom of movement, making it highly valued and often used for all kinds of sports and training activities.
Materials and Design:
The jacket is made of two types of material. The outer layer is waterproof polyester coated with a hydrophobic coating, resistant to both rain and snow. For environmental protection, it is made with recycled fibers. The interior is made of soft and warm synthetic fur with excellent insulating properties. The lining is antistatic and prevents long fur from tangling. A high, fold-over collar protects the neck. Minimal seams reduce the risk of abrasion and provide increased water resistance. Even though the jacket has only one waist closure and no straps or elastic for the hind legs, it fits perfectly and stays in place during any activity. It's easy to put on and take off. It's very lightweight and packs down to a compact size. You can easily take it on any adventure without weighing down your luggage. Reflective elements ensure your dog's safety in low light conditions.
Benefits:
- Protection from wind, rain, and snow, with a lining that provides thermal comfort without restricting your pet's movement.
- Excellent grip and stability during movement, with reflective elements for safety.
- A hole in the collar for attaching a leash to the collar.
- Waterproof, water-repellent outer layer.
- Lightweight, easy to fold and store.
- Suitable for all dogs, with a slit for the tail.
- Easy to put on and take off.
- Water resistance: 5,000mm.
- Machine washable, will last for years of everyday use.
Tip: The PerusPomppa jacket is an excellent winter jacket for dogs with slightly thicker fur. For extremely cold dogs, dogs with very short hair, no undercoat, or seniors, we recommend adding a JumppaPomppa fleece underneath for additional insulation against the cold.
How to Care for Your Pomppa Dog Clothing:
Avoid unnecessary washing. Besides water consumption, frequent washing wears out the fabric and its coating. If there is no visible dirt or debris, try airing the product in a well-ventilated area or try placing it in the freezer to remove any odors. If necessary, machine wash the clothing on a delicates cycle at 30°C. Do not use harsh detergents, stain removers, bleach, or fabric softeners. Hang the clothing to dry after washing. Do not tumble dry, iron, or dry clean. The outer layer of the jacket is coated with a water-repellent coating, which degrades with repeated washing. You can recreate this using waterproofing products commonly available in outdoor clothing stores.
Choosing the Right Size:
A properly selected size provides the best possible thermal protection and ensures your dog has complete freedom of movement. The right size protects key muscle groups and ensures the garment stays in place even during sprints or crazy jumps. Pomppa jackets and sweatshirts are designed to fit a variety of dog shapes: slender, with a broad chest, and with well-defined and well-muscled muscles. When choosing the right size, it's important that the sweatshirt doesn't restrict your dog's mobility or cause discomfort in any other way. The decisive factor in choosing the right size for a PerusPomppa jacket is the dog's back length. We recommend avoiding choosing a size smaller than the dog's back length. Depending on the dog's proportions and coat type, the correct size may be larger than the back length. Another factor worth considering is that due to the thickness of the materials, for the coat to fit comfortably on the dog, its waist circumference should be slightly larger than the dog's own. Depending on the dog's proportions, the belt doesn't necessarily fit at the narrowest part of the dog's waist.
About the brand: The first Pomppa products were created by the brand's creator, Meri Alku. Having participated in numerous agility competitions with her dogs, she spent a long time searching for suitable clothing for her pets that would meet the requirement of combining adequate thermal protection with full freedom of movement, especially during intense activity. Armed with her knowledge of textiles, Meri Alku decided to sew her own clothes for her dogs. These were so enthusiastically received by other dog owners that the designer decided to sew dog warmers professionally. Over time, the collection grew (and continues to grow) to several.
