Description
OPAWZ hair lightening cream and developer set for professional coat lightening, formulated with nourishing oils as a gentler alternative to powder.
For professional use only. The Lightening Cream is rich in nourishing oils and is gentler than traditional lightening powder. It may help reduce hair drying and breakage during lightening.
Suitable for healthy adult dogs and horses. Do not use on elderly or pregnant animals, cats, or small animals.
Set includes
- 1 x 100 g Lightening Cream
- 1 x 200 ml Developer oxidising liquid
Expected lightening result
This hair lightening cream changes dark hair to brown or light blonde, not white. The resulting base colour affects colours applied afterwards. Blue, green and purple may show more strongly, while pale shades may not show correctly. When unsure, carry out a colour test to check the result.
Preliminary test
Always perform a preliminary test 48 hours before application. Do not bathe the animal beforehand.
- Check the skin in the areas to be lightened for damage, redness or swelling.
- Mix 1 part Lightening Cream with 2 parts Developer thoroughly.
- Apply a test patch to selected areas and leave the mixture on for 30 minutes, avoiding the hair roots during lightening.
- If the animal shows no discomfort, continue with the normal lightening process.
Directions for use
The animal does not need to be bathed before application. Comb the coat thoroughly, avoiding combs with sharp pin ends to help prevent hair damage. Check all areas to be coloured for skin damage, redness and swelling.
- Mix the Lightening Cream and Developer thoroughly at a 1:2 ratio.
- Apply evenly to the selected areas, keeping 1/2 inch (1 cm) away from the hair roots.
- Leave at room temperature for approximately 25 minutes.
- Rinse the mixture with room-temperature water (approximately 25°C), apply a deep-cleansing shampoo and lather well. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Precautions
- Do not use on animals with damaged, irritated or sensitive skin.
- Take particular care to prevent contact with the skin around the ears, tail or spine. Keep the product 1/2 inch (1 cm) away from the hair roots. These areas produce more oils and may be prone to skin problems if not properly cared for. The spine may also be more sensitive because of frequent exposure to high temperatures from clipping equipment.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mouth. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes.
- The product contains hydrogen peroxide. If accidentally swallowed, animals may vomit.
- Do not use wraps or heat. Monitor the animal during use. If scratching or other signs of discomfort occur, stop use immediately and rinse with water at approximately 25°C. Excessively warm water may cause skin discomfort.
- Do not apply dye immediately after lightening. Allow 1–2 weeks between lightening and colouring, as residual oil from lightening may affect the colouring result.
- Not recommended for large areas or for use several times per year.
- Do not allow dogs to lick the product.
Additional information
For colouring after lightening, the supplier recommends waiting 1–2 weeks so the dog can rest and residual oil is no longer present on the coat. OPAWZ Deep Cleanse Shampoo and OPAWZ C1 degreasing cream may also be used to remove oil residue.
The supplier states that the lightening process changes dark coat colours to brown or beige and does not lighten hair to white. Veterinarians regularly use 3% hydrogen peroxide as an emetic when dogs accidentally ingest something.
