Description
Wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted direct-action germicidal lamps effectively disinfect air and surfaces in the absence of staff and patients.
Wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted direct-action germicidal lamps operate in the absence of staff and patients. This is an effective method of disinfecting air and surfaces. Selecting the appropriate power of a direct-action germicidal lamp depends on many factors, including the shape and size of the room (mainly its height). Furthermore, the degree to which walls and objects in the room reflect light should also be taken into account. Parameters such as humidity, air dust level, and microbial resistance are also important. As you can easily see, it is difficult to clearly determine how many NBV series direct-action germicidal lamps should be installed in a given room.
Generally speaking, it can be assumed that sufficient microbiological cleanliness can be achieved by installing in a room with a height of 2.5 to 3 m:
- A 15W lamp for an area of up to 8 m²
- 2x15W lamps for an area of up to 12 m²
- A 30W lamp for an area of up to 15 m²
- 2x30W lamps for an area of up to 22 m²
The duration of a direct-acting germicidal lamp depends on the type of room and its intended use. For example, in patient rooms, treatment rooms, or operating rooms, the lamps are turned on for 2 to 8 hours. However, to disinfect a room (for example, during a break between procedures), this type of equipment is turned on for approximately 15-20 minutes.
