How to Use
Before using the FURminator deShedding Tool, read the instruction manual carefully. It is recommended to use the FURminator deShedding Tool 1-2 times a week, for no longer than 10-20 minutes. However, deShedding time may vary depending on the condition, coat thickness, and breed of the individual. More frequent use of the deShedding Tool may be necessary during shedding season.
To use the FURminator correctly and effectively, follow these steps:
- Before beginning the deShedding process, carefully inspect your pet for bruises, wounds, or other skin problems. Then, brush the coat, paying particular attention to untangling any knots. Using the tool on tangled hair can damage the tool by breaking off the bristles.
- Start deshedding: Gently move the tool through your pet's coat in the direction of hair growth, starting at the nape of the neck and gradually moving towards the tail. Use long, gentle strokes, as if brushing. Although the SkinGuard feature prevents the tool's teeth from digging into the skin, brushing too deeply or too hard can cause irritation, especially when working on your pet's belly, legs, or intimate areas.
- Regularly remove excess hair using the FURejector button.
- After use, remember to secure the FURminator's teeth with the EdgeGuard.
How to Care for Your FURminator
To keep your FURminator in good condition for as long as possible, follow these rules:
- Remember to brush your pet before deshedding. Working with the tool on tangled hair can cause the deshedding teeth to break.
- Be careful not to drop the tool. Dropping onto a hard surface may damage the tool.
- Clean the tool with warm water and a mild detergent. Pay attention to dirt between the individual teeth. If necessary, clean them with a soft brush.
- Before storing, the tool must be completely dry. The tool has an EdgeGuard along the entire length of the blade to protect it from accidental damage during storage.
