The inner fabric "rib" is made of cotton, slightly elastic, and pleasant to the touch, which does not cause irritation or chafing, which is a common problem with stiff, plastic collars. The inside of the "doughnut" is filled with soft fiber, providing additional comfort and maintaining its shape.
